In this workshop, we will discuss the importance and function of having an author website, and will walk through the process of getting a custom domain, as well as actually building the website through Squarespace. Students will be able to get real-time feedback on their website design. During the 3 hour block, all participants will be able to walk away with some of their website done--maybe all of it! We may also discuss social media and other elements of having an online presence.
Price: $30 per person
Light refreshments will be provided.
Location: Anne Arundel Hall 0120 on UMD campus. You can park in Lot 1 for free, which is about a 3 minute walk from ANA. If you walk from Lot 1, you will walk past Tawes Hall, cross Campus Drive, and ANA will be directly on the other side of the street. If you metro in, take a free shuttle to campus, then walk from the Stamp Student Union across the street to Dorchester Hall, and ANA will be next to Dorchester, across from Tawes Hall. You can also look at a UMD campus map for clarification.
